Another medical student has signed on to practice family medicine under the Hastings County Family Physician Recruitment Program
“It is with great pleasure that I am announcing the signing of Dr. Micayla Ahearn to our recruitment program,” says Warden Rick Phillips. “She is the 19th doctor currently signed up to our program.”
The Hastings County Family Physician Recruitment Program provides a $20,000 grant per year for five years to medical students towards the cost of their studies. In return they agree to set up their practice in Hastings County for a minimum of five years.
“I had a lot of fun during my rotations in Bancroft at the Family Health Team,” states Dr. Ahearn. “There was a great sense of community there, and I am really looking forward to starting my practice there.”
